A delightful surprise at the end of our journey. Nestled within the Austrian Alps, the Nordkette mountain range is a real treat for travelers, since you can access the mountain directly from the city center of Innsbruck. All you need is a couple of hours and about $36 for a roundtrip ticket from the base of the mountain to the very top.
Ride the unique Hungerburg Funicular. Hop off when you arrive in Hungerburg Station to enjoy an Austrian beer or check out the Alpine Zoo. Board the Nordkette cable car to continue on to Hafelekar Peak. Be sure to hop off at Seegrube Station, where you can enjoy more amazing Austrian beer, at an even higher elevation, with an even more amazing view! Also home to Cloud 9, the highest club in the Alps, hosting igloo dance parties Friday nights during the winter season.
